I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Yes. nouveau-dri was installed as version 7.11.2-1 on 2012-01-05, upgraded to version 8.0.1-2 on 2012-03-17 and again upgraded to version 8.0.2-1 on 2012-03-24, all according to /var/log/pacman.log.

Det commented on 2012-05-09 17:54 (UTC)

So.. did you or did you not install (lib32-)nouveau-dri? Or lib32-nvidia-utils, in case you switched to the nvidia driver.

<deleted-account> commented on 2012-05-09 17:47 (UTC)

No I am not. The error is still there, in spite of my having an empty ~/.drirc. What do you suggest I do now - other than complaining ;-)

Are you kidding me?

What is the status on the segfault problem?

Det commented on 2012-05-06 08:32 (UTC)

It is because those optdeps also include (lib32-)nvidia-utils.

Solved problem with NVidia GeForce 9600: blank (black) main window, otherwise seemed to work. Installed lib32-nvidia-utils (replacing lib32-libgl). Similar lib32-xxxx for other video brands are listed in optdepends. Sorry if this is obvious to everyone - got the idea from http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=54394

The software itself was. The URLs just never change.
