@Shalrath I definitely have both python2 and python3 installed on my system, and I don't get this error (my system would cease working if python3 wasn't installed). Do you use makepkg for building or do you use some wrapper? Perhaps you are trying to build in chroot?

Shalrath commented on 2023-02-10 18:04 (UTC)

When both python2 and python3 are installed, this fails to build because it uses python3 and then complains "Python 2 is required, but Python 3 was found."

@gnaggnoyil I think that's not what fails the build - -fpermissive flag actually allows the build to continue in presence of such errors. Can you post the whole log somewhere?

I met the following error when running makepks -s:

/home/gnaggnoyil/.cache/yay/java8-openjfx/src/rt-8u202-ga/modules/web/src/main/native/Source/WebCore/bridge/jni/JobjectWrapper.cpp: 在析构函数‘JSC::Bindings::JobjectWrapper::~JobjectWrapper()’中:

And then the terminal continues to emit about 70000+ messages and then reports the build failed. Is anyone here having the same issue?

It works!!!! TYVM kind Sir!!!!

Rogach commented on 2023-02-03 05:38 (UTC)

@Pillgar Patched the PKGBUILD, please test that it now builds on your machine.

I think you figured it out.: https://gist.github.com/Pillgar/90931a304e57d75e02c2a3e366e247cb

@Rogach yes on the patch, maybe bad in practice although we should also consider that because of how we handle Java, most people probably don't run java 8 as the default most of the time...and archlinux-java sets all the env vars out of the box.

The PKGBUILD may need to hard code the paths to use a java8 or lower path, and put that in the makedepends...circular self dependence maybe but still...

Rogach commented on 2023-02-02 15:21 (UTC)

Since the build is dependent on specific strings in java -version output, I'm planning to restrict dependencies to jdk8-openjdk and jre8-openjdk (instead of java-runtime-openjdk and java-environment-openjdk). I doubt that someone is running this build with newer JDK version.

However if somebody needs to compile with some other JDK version, then please leave a message here (and include the output of java -version, so that I can patch build.gradle accordingly).

Aha, so _JAVA_OPTIONS line is throwing it off. Here's the updated test script, please test it: https://gist.github.com/Rogach/6f9639e3025ba744fb77b895c841acf4
