I will try what @bob418 suggested. In general the laptop has been entirely unusable for me with all the different kernel variants and even with the mask settings.
I generally get a symptom of disk issues (I put my own nvme that I swap out of my daily driver in there) so not sure if that has some incompatibility or if it really is just the symptom. If anyone has tips on how to get useful debugs/traces when lockups occur happy to share what those are.
Installed this kernel (linux-mainline-um5606 6.12rc4-1) on EndeavourOS KDE and got 2 freezes very quickly. Still need to set "amdgpu.dcdebugmask". After some tests I use "amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x10 amdgpu.sg_display=0" right now and it seems very stable.
6.12rc4 appears to be stable enough
Thanks for the work on this. I am also tracking this closely. I just got the hardware myself and rc3 has locked up on me a bit so definitely interested in your findings.
I haven't tried this package yet but will give it a go if it's better than rc3.
6.12rc3 seems to have some serious stability problems compared to 6.12rc2, will investigate...
Thanks for the feedback. I've done my best before, and now after your comment, and it is beyond my ability to determine how to derive the XDNA driver version in the patch. Though Manjaro is not Arch, I have been 100% stable on this 6.12rc2-2 since updating two days ago with the modifications I listed before. As my goal is to eventually be savvy enough to move to Arch, I'd be glad to share any information that could be helpful and would appreciate the experience gained while doing so.
@macboy80 the crashes in this case are brand new for 6.12rc2. Furthermore, the NPU patch is for XDNA3.5 – if you claim to be great at research, maybe start by looking at the included patch set, all sources are clearly labeled in the PKGBUILD. Also, any odd behavior on Manjaro cannot be taken at face value, as Manjaro IS NOT Arch. However, I will look into the X86_FEATURE_HETERO_CORE_TOPOLOGY patch
Thank you for your work on this. I'm fairly new to Arch (using Manjaro/KDE,) but I'm a great researcher.
I've consistently had random screen freezes throughout the 6.11 updates. it seems that I still have to use "amdgpu.dcdebugmask=0x600" and I also had to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox. I'd call it 99% stable for me on 6.11.0-1-mainline-um5606-dirty. I should also mention I'm on mesa 1:24.2.4-1. Are your freezes something new with this current 6.12rc2?
I have a couple more questions. Please correct me if this is not the right venue.

@That1Calculator Thanks for updating! I consistently experience display freezes a few minutes after boot. Is this a known issue? Or anything I could try?
