For those looking for something more stable than the alpha/default branch, there's another git pkgbuild for the 2.3 branch (beta), which should be reliable enough for daily use: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/mixxx_beta-git/

This package will automatically retrieve and build the latest development snapshot of Mixxx from git (default branch).

It does not need to be updated on every release, so please do not flag out of date unless the build breaks or any actual packaging issue.

New versions depend on libshout or has to be compiled without shoutcast. It compiles manually installing libshout from extras.

So, I am having some build errors, and can't figure out what packages are missing. I'm on x86_64 Arch 3.6.3-1. Here are the errors: Checking for C library GLU... no Checking for C library glu32... no Checking for C header file /System/Library/Frameworks/OpenGL.framework/Versions/A/Headers/glu.h... no ERROR:root:Unmet dependency: Did not find GLU development files and Checking for C library vamp-hostsdk... no Not sure what package would contain those glu dev files; I already have the official glu package installed. Any ideas?

I experienced some problems compiling this package, although they really need reporting upstream. The first problem was a missing header, second was a DSO linking error. I was able to solve both problems and make a simple GCC 4.7 patch (http://pastebin.com/0a7GapUq), and uploaded it to a temporary location, so I could provide a working PKGBUILD with all fixes, here http://pastebin.com/k7e2bbXa.

provides=('mixxx') should be added to the PKGBUILD so it doesn't conflict with the package from the official repos
