Ah I see now, thank you @Hanabishi

@Hanabishi Thank you
@k0r0ng None of your message is relevant to what I said. If you want to help with the AUR that's awesome, but please spend some time learning about PKGBUILDs first. Package comment sections aren't really the appropriate place for that though. If you want to continue this discussion, my email is public.

@k0r0ng, transitive dependencies are discouraged, official packages tend to include everything explicitly now.
There is no strict requirement to do that in AUR though. But it is generally a good idea to follow the official repos.

@PlasticSoup base is essential package for Arch, and as you mentioned base-devel require for AUR. If you want to know dependencies recursively you can use pactree from pacman-contrib package. Also before commented I tried build this package without packages that I mentioned in clean chroot and it works!

@k0r0ng Only base-devel is assumed installed, base is not. Multiple wiki pages about the AUR and packaging in general state base-devel is assumed, base is never mentioned. That is not an oversight. Even Arch repo packages leave base-devel out of make depends but base packages are in any required depends field. Also zlib isn't in either package so I'm not sure why you included that. Remember, if you ever start maintaining packages, that transitive dependencies must be declared. If you have posted similar messages on other packages' pages I hope you go and delete them. You should not be spreading false information, even on accident.

gcc-libs, glib2, and zlib already required by base and/or base-devel, so no need to put it in depends

Well, as I were passing by, I fixed and updated the package. Feel free anyone to keep it up.

Sure, disowned now. If someone is willing to take over, it is available.
Hanabishi commented on 2024-02-07 17:47 (UTC)
The package wasn't updated in 8 years. Maybe consider disowning the package to let someone else actually update it.

I'm not ready to make a Qt5 release. Please use https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/nulloy-git/ for now, it uses pre-release source.
