Do you have multiple kernels installed? Are you trying to modprobe the nvidia module from the same kernel that you have compiled the package for? Have you tried rebuilding and reinstalling the package again?

It says the nvidia.ko file doesn't exist but I've checked and it's there.

Can someone help me? I'm getting "Failed to load module "nvidia" (module-specific error, 0) after installing nvidia-beta.
