On the other hand if I run packet tracer from CLI in debug mode, logs give some hint like that below. As you see below it seems to be related to SSL problem, but I'm not sure. On the other hand an URL which is seen on the debug log gives "insecure connection error" on the browser. (https://analytics01.cisco.netacad.com/)
I've this problem both on PT 7.1 and 7.0 version but same versions on Windows works without any error.

@presianbg & @hoobastank, it seems to be a heartbeat vulnerability check fail, try to update all ssl packages to latest version to assurance that heartbeat vulnerability is solved.

I've successfully installed as @runnytu said, but user login screen isn't loading. There is only a white screen. It is same both on 7.1 and 7.0 version. It works without any problem with guest user but you know it's limited. Is there any solution?

Hi, I'm having troubles with running latest packettracer:
*** Error in `/usr/share/packettracer/bin/PacketTracer7': free(): invalid pointer: 0x00007f5adfffe3c0 ***
Aborted (core dumped)
Update: uninstalling jre(aur) resolved this.

# Help Files that are optinal uncomment to include them (55 MB)
# cp -r ./help/* "${pkgdir}/usr/share/packettracer/help"
This is not up to you to decide what part of package to exclude. All you have to do is maintain an AUR script which installs whole application just like developer designed it. It's developer responsibility to exclude it if it wants so, not yours.

@Asher256, Fixed, thanks.

The *.desktop file /usr/share/applications/Cisco-PacketTracer.desktop has the wrong icon path.
The wrong path:
/opt/pt/arg/app.png
Needs to be replaced with:
/usr/share/packettracer/art/app.png

Here's how I successfully installed Packet Tracer 7.1 on my system.
1. Download "PacketTracer71_64bit_linux.tar.gz" from http://netacad.com
2. # yaourt -S packettracer (install all dependencies and wait till it puts out this error:
==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build .
==> Restart building packettracer ? [y/N]
[ DO NOT TYPE "Y" OR "N", LEAVE ALONE FOR NOW ]
3. Open new terminal and look for "packettracer" file by typing in:
# sudo find / -name "packettracer" -print 2>/dev/null
4. Mine was located in this dir: "/tmp/yaourt-tmp-nickle/aur-packettracer/"
5. Now copy previously downloaded "PacketTracer71_64bit_linux.tar.gz" and paste
into dir:
# cp PacketTracer71_64bit_linux.tar.gz /tmp/yaourt-tmp-nickle/aur-packettracer/PacketTracer71_64bit_linux.tar.gz
6. Now return back to original terminal and type "Y" to continue install. Ignore errors towards the
end about "cannot remove from /tmp.

To install packettracer follow this guidelines:
1. Download the snapshot from this AUR.
2. Tar -zxf the packettracer.tar.gz snapshot (it creates the dir packettracer/ with the PKGBUILD on it).
3. Download the latest packettracer tarball from your Netacad account and copy it into the packettracer/ dir.
4. Create the package with the command makepkg (it creates a packettracer.pkg.tar.xz).
5. Install the package with either makepkg -i or sudo pacman -U packettracer.pkg.tar.xz.

To install all versions of packettracer except 7.2.2, follow this guidelines: 1.
Packettracer 7.2.2 are auto installable via run file, download it from netacad webpage and run it, you don't need this package.
