I had this same problem but I didn't have Infinality installed. I had freetype2-ubuntu.
Switching back to vanilla Freetype2 fixed the problem as per scorpius2k1's instructions below:
sudo pacman -S fontconfig freetype2 cairo lib32-fontconfig lib32-cairo lib32-freetype2
[...]
I also switched my freetype2 interpreter by editing /etc/profile.d/freetype2.sh
and uncommenting the last line, making sure it reads: export FREETYPE_PROPERTIES="truetype:interpreter-version=40"
