Python2 patching is not needed anymore. Upstream accepted python2 shebang. https://git.gnome.org/browse/pitivi/commit/?id=239860b0d79fbde7fb99c69c90137acd6b4f0105 Current PKGBUILD will result in python22. Please use this: https://gist.github.com/lubosz/5348614

Thank you. python2-gobject and python2-xdg helped it start. Many thanks.

Try installing python2-gobject and see if it works (if it doesn't, try installing python2-gobject2—I'm not quite sure what the difference between the two is).

This package should work now. If anyone encounters any issues, please let me know.

Also, could you please add a dependency on goocanvas and gst-editing-services-git?

This appears to be out-of-date; I get the following message when trying to install: This repository is obsolete and has moved to git.gnome.org/pitivi Nothing here but chickens! Changing _gitroot to "git://git.gnome.org/pitivi" fixed the issue.

With the recent push to master of the GES/GTK3, this does not build anymore. Needed are: * GStreamer 0.11 packages, including GES * Dependency on GTK3

PiTiVi non longer builds properly due to pitivi.desktop moving. adding "data/" to line 51 of the PKGBUILD makes it work again. install -D -m644 pitivi.desktop "$pkgdir/usr/share/applications/pitivi.desktop" to -> install -D -m644 data/pitivi.desktop "$pkgdir/usr/share/applications/pitivi.desktop" Bundling a .desktop file isn't needed now since it's included (albeit missing the french description): http://git.pitivi.org/?p=pitivi.git;a=blob_plain;f=data/pitivi.desktop.in.in;hb=refs/heads/master As an aside, it's incredible that this PKGBUILD is still near-flawless after almost 2 years :D
