@skandix you don't have to remove mpv, just rebuild the package

(plexmediaplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libmpv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ) I had an easier solution to this issue than downgrading, was just to uninstall mpv and plex-media-player, and then install just plex-media-player again so it pull down the right mpv dependency :)

Apologies. I assumed this was the procedure for out-of-date dependencies also. If by upstream you mean the repo on github, I think it's going to be while as the owner has archived the repo.

This repository has been archived by the owner. It is now read-only.

@vagelis: Please do not flag packages out of date unless there is a new upstream release. Please unflag it.

@vagelis you need to rebuild the package

vagelis commented on 2022-11-17 21:09 (UTC)

With latest update in mpv, plex media player won't start due to libmpv.so.1 upgraded to libmpv.so.2. (plexmediaplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libmpv.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory ). Had to downgrade mpv as workaround.

This currently conflicts with jellyfin-media-player (aur):

plex-media-player: /usr/resources/qtwebengine_devtools_resources.pak exists in filesystem (owned by jellyfin-media-player)

Of course, its quite easy to simply delete this file and both packages work fine, but a conflict is a conflict.

Additionally, I'm also getting the seg fault.

AUR probably needs a plex-media-player-appimage pkg using https://knapsu.eu/plex/ builds given all the issues with the native package.

I second @zagg's comment. I have the same issue for a clean build and adding python as a make dependency fixes it.

zagg commented on 2022-01-03 20:05 (UTC)

I tried to build it on a machine without python and it is failing. Could you add python as a make dependency ?

Is anyone having issues with the app flickering? EDIT: It was the video driver I was using, sorry.
