Orphaned.

akurei commented on 2017-07-19 11:47 (UTC)

No, this version is the latest git master version. rtl-sdr from community is a fixed commit (presumably at a stable release).

Is this the same Version than: https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/rtl-sdr/ ?

Please use proper pkgver(), one base on data conflicts with AUR helpers rebuild trigers which are based upon pkgver() output. proper pkgver() pkgver() { cd ${_pkgname} git describe --long --tags | sed 's/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g' }

Changing cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/usr -Wno-dev ../ to cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/usr -DDETACH_KERNEL_DRIVER=ON -Wno-dev ../ in the PKGBUILD might save users a lot of trouble. Per http://git.osmocom.org/rtl-sdr/commit/?id=3e17ef2b55d80237da9766f3464ae784448a23e6 -DDETACH_KERNEL_DRIVER is turned off by default now. This will cause the following error when running many programs, including gqrx: "Kernel driver is active, or device is claimed by second instance of librtlsdr. In the first case, please either detach or blacklist the kernel module (dvb_usb_rtl28xxu), or enable automatic detaching at compile time." Compiling with support for automatic detachment would probably be a good idea for the majority of users.

Please add even the simplest pkgver() ---- pkgver() { date +%Y%m%d }

How would you move a -git package to [community]? If you want to make a non-git (= "rtl-sdr") package from it, you're welcome to do so. =)

Now that this has hit 10 votes, I would like to move it to [community]. Your thoughts?

If you get: usb_claim_interface error -6 Add this patch to avoid error: cd "$srcdir/$_gitname-build/" +echo -e '1061a1062,1063\n> libusb_detach_kernel_driver(dev->devh, 0);\n> ' | patch -i - src/librtlsdr.c mkdir build source: http://lists.osmocom.org/pipermail/osmocom-sdr/2012-May/000105.html http://www.thepowerbase.com/2012/06/getting-started-with-rtl-sdr/#comment-593512053

Done.

R00KIE commented on 2012-07-04 18:46 (UTC)

You probably want to add something like this at the end of the package routine: install -D -m644 "$srcdir/$_gitname-build/rtl-sdr.rules" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/udev/rules.d/10-rtl-sdr.rules"

akurei commented on 2012-05-25 15:30 (UTC)

Good idea. Updated.

BlackLotus89 commented on 2012-05-25 15:18 (UTC)

how about cmake -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX:PATH=/usr ../ instead of just cmake ../ I hate picking things up from /usr/local

akurei commented on 2012-04-25 21:10 (UTC)

I modified the PKGBUILD. Thanks, 0xfc! Please note: The executable is now named "rtl_sdr" and not "rtl-sdr".

0xfc commented on 2012-04-24 04:02 (UTC)

no headers file installed. modify PKGBUILD to: package() { -cd "$srcdir/$_gitname-build/build/src/" -install -d ${pkgdir}/usr/bin -install -d ${pkgdir}/usr/lib/ -install -Dm 755 rtl_sdr ${pkgdir}/usr/bin/rtl-sdr -install -Dm 755 librtlsdr.so ${pkgdir}/usr/lib/ +cd "$srcdir/$_gitname-build/build/" +make DESTDIR=${pkgdir} install } works for me. please consider modify it.

works now, thanks!

akurei commented on 2012-04-09 19:52 (UTC)

Thanks. Seems like they switched the build system to cmake. I fixed the package, it builds again on my box. Please post if you were able to build it. =)
