Using http://www.syntevo.com/smartsynchronize/download/smartsynchronize-generic-3_4_1.tar.gz I get 404 error in browser and failure in makepkg. Using http://www.syntevo.com/smartsynchronize/download?file=smartsynchronize/smartsynchronize-generic-3_4_1.tar.gz my browser does to pull the file, but pkgbuild still fails.

I had no luck using that form. Here's what works for me for 3.4.1: source=("http://www.syntevo.com/${pkgname}/download?file=${pkgname}/${pkgname}-generic-${_pkgver}.tar.gz" smartsynchronize.desktop) install="smartsynchronize.install" md5sums=('438128c85fa70379bc5df63a58bcd6d7' 'b836cc56c0ae2b200562d21136b9ce2a')

the source URL is wrong. it should be: http://www.syntevo.com/downloads/${pkgname}/${pkgname}-generic-${_pkgver}.tar.gz
