This package is the CLI package provided by Surfshark. It is different to the GUI package. Please only flag this as out of date if Surfshark update the CLI package.

Why the GUI version was deleted?

Not failing for me. Checksum looks correct.

surfshark-vpn_1.1.0_amd64.deb failing checksum

I submitted a new package named surfshark-gui-bin with the GUI program. I would ask some help with the process of cleaning the deps (there are a lot, generated with debtap) to see which of those are not really needed. Thanks!

@carlosala Why don't you bundle the two? Either way, I'm looking forward to testing the new official GUI.

I would say creating a new package (maybe just called "surfshark", like the official .deb) for the new GUI would be best. I think they will stop updating the CLI, since they don't even link to it from their site anymore afaict.

There's a new app from surfshark that's a GUI for the VPN. Should we update this package or just create a new package for the GUI? I think the CLI is not going to be updated anymore probably.

What do you think?

Maybe we could bundle both CLI and GUI in the same package.

A clean build fixed the validity check for me.

The current package (surfshark-vpn 1.1.0-2) won't install due to it throwing an error on the validity check.

I updated the package because Surfshark updated its .deb package without changing the version. At least my daily scrapper works xD
