This package is the CLI package provided by Surfshark. It is different to the GUI package. Please only flag this as out of date if Surfshark update the CLI package.

Easy test:

curl -s https://ipleak.net/ | grep -i texas

Note: It doesn't cover certain tests, like the torrent test and the WebRTC detection tests. But it's good enough for an occasional gut check.

I too had the DNS Leak issue. After searching around a bit, it turns out this issue is common with openVPN (this uses OpenVPN under the hood?!).

In order to get around the leak issue, use https://github.com/jonathanio/update-systemd-resolved .

This package is also available on AUR under the same name. The dev just needs to add a few lines to the service file for OpenVPN and the leak goes away. I personally tested it and it works totally fine.

If you want to read more about it, I wrote an article explaining the whole thing: https://blog.deepjyoti30.dev/openvpn-dns-leak

Software seems to install ok. However I can input my surfshark user name but it refuses to input the surfshark password. So the program is faulty an does not work. ;-(

This software works fine, but i'm having a dns leaking issue. I've tried the solutions suggested at the conversation below.

This does not work. Seems to install. Accepts user name. Refuses to allow input of password.

What Is the advantage to install this software instead to download the ovpn server from website and connect to them by command "openvpn xxx.ovpn"? How autostart at boot? Thanks
