I contain more things already containing in ugene packages. Maybe it's shame to me.

It's actually ugene -ui, but that doesn't work either. You definitely shouldn't need sudo to run the program, nor need to chown. Otherwise other users wouldn't be able to use it! I think the problem is that /usr/share/ugene/ugenecl and other files in /usr/share/ugene are missing the o+x permission. I've tested ugene-git, and this works perfectly. Also, the dependency list for ugene-git looks much more comprehensive!

I think you need try to ugene -gui or try to use sudo to run or use chown to change the owner. Finally, you can try sudo ugene -gui

Still fails. Are you testing it yourself?

$ ugene
/usr/bin/ugene: line 61: /usr/share/ugene/ugenecl: Permission denied

Try it now.

Ah okay. I didn't really understand what you meant by Sorry, what's wrong with you?

malacology commented on 2021-07-19 12:20 (UTC)

I know, the dir structure has been changed

Rhinoceros commented on 2021-07-19 09:52 (UTC)

Thanks. It looks like you aren't building in a clean directory. You are missing the ==> Extracting sources... stage (should be before Entering fakeroot environment). You are also missing ==> Starting package().... Presumably your directory already had icons.tar.gz for some reason.

I found a error yesterday, I will fix it, also invite you as co-maintainer

Rhinoceros commented on 2021-07-19 08:16 (UTC)

Also the permissions are a bit wrong. Normal users can't run it because only root has executable permissions for /usr/share/ugene/ugene (symlinked from /usr/bin/ugene). I changed that, then got permission denied for /usr/share/ugene/ugene. There are probably more permissions that need to be fixed.

Rhinoceros commented on 2021-07-19 08:08 (UTC)

I can't make this package. Looks like there is a missing file.

==> Starting package()...
tar: icons.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package().
    Aborting...
error making: ugene-bin

Now the version of the package is 38.1.

Dear all, ugene finally can build with current (5.12) Qt! I am disowning the binary package since I am migrating to ugene-git.
