@snack I'm seeing the same problem on my laptop with i3+pulseaudio
The strange part is the second monitor doesn't even need to be active, just plugged in. This is over VGA.

@snack I'm also seeing the same segfault on my desktop machine (with three monitors). I'm running without a DE using Alsa, with `VIDYO_AUDIO_FRAMEWORK=ALSA` set. If I remove the environment variable, then Vidyo starts and hangs before ever opening the GUI:
$ VidyoDesktop
libpng warning: iCCP: known incorrect sRGB profile
QPainter::begin: Widget painting can only begin as a result of a paintEvent
Object::connect: No such slot VDCallWindow::OnHideMuteToolbarsWhenWindowDeactivate() in ../source/VDController.cpp:3847
Object::connect: (receiver name: 'VDCallWindow')

I'm having a very strange segfault, which happens only when I don't use the external screen plugged to my laptop. When using only the laptop's panel I get this segfault:
/usr/bin/VidyoDesktop: line 6: 3300 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /opt/vidyo/VidyoDesktop/$EXEC $option $audioflag $@
while when I plug the external monitor and use a dual screen setup the segfault goes away and Vidyo works as expected. I'm using Plasma 5 with PulseAudio. Anyone else experience the same issue? Thanks.

@salderwe
Unfortunately I've always gotten a segfault when using bluetooth with Vidyo on Linux. Seems a weird issue particularly if it's running in a pulse environment and shouldn't realistically care, but alas.

A note for anyone trying to use this with Plasma 5 - you will need some sort of system tray that has XEmbed capabilities, otherwise you will continue to see segfaults.

OK uploaded a new PKGBUILD with the changes -- using the new multi-arch source constructs from @carlgeorge and the DEB packages from @totsilence. Be sure to get the -3 release, the -2 was bad (qtwebkit wasn't listed as a dep).
This might be why it "fixes" the segfault -- the DEB package requires the qtwebkit shared library to be installed, the RPM doesn't (so I'm assuming it's statically compiled in). After upgrading, I noticed that my Vidyo tray popup menu looks better (it follows my Qt theme), the RPM package looked all old-school Motif-ish.

Hello,
I have also seen the segmentation faults with the vidyodesktop package other people have reported.
I was able to resolve these by switching to the ubuntu .deb binary package. This is with x86_64.
Here are my changes to the source array:
if [ "$CARCH" == "i686" ]; then
source=("https://demo.vidyo.com/upload/VidyoDesktopInstaller-ubuntu-TAG_VD_3_5_4_004.deb")
md5sums=('def5828bd84e1c5cba1058a73801c377')
elif [ "$CARCH" == "x86_64" ]; then
source=("https://demo.vidyo.com/upload/VidyoDesktopInstaller-ubuntu64-TAG_VD_3_5_4_004.deb")
md5sums=('cdabff2965962774ba8b2937d39445bf')
fi
and then to extract the .deb:
prepare() {
tar xzvf data.tar.gz
}
Maybe other people will find this useful.

awesome, thanks Carl! I'll change that in the next release, not really worth pushing a new update right away. I have another package that this will fix as well (the Xerox print drivers), didn't know about the new option.

There is now an option in PKGBUILDs to suffix the source and checksum array names with the architecture [1]. That means you can drop that if statement and do this instead:
source_i686=("https://demo.vidyo.com/upload/VidyoDesktopInstaller-sl5-TAG_VD_3_5_4_004.rpm")
md5sums_i686=('634063b2b773d49b3d230ac67fe7aa4e')
source_x86_64=("https://demo.vidyo.com/upload/VidyoDesktopInstaller-sl564-TAG_VD_3_5_4_004.rpm")
md5sums_x86_64=('3f728f54ca6626c3e75802552061e040')

I have been using this package successfully for quite a while. However recently I realised that when I connect my bluetooth headphones, I get a segfault:
Object::connect: No such slot VDController::OnReceiveInitialBuddyList(VDRequestResponseBuddyList*) in ../source/VDController.cpp:2092
Object::connect: (sender name: 'VDLoginWindow')
/usr/bin/VidyoDesktop: line 6: 1121 Segmentation fault (core dumped) /opt/vidyo/VidyoDesktop/$EXEC $option $audioflag $@
Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone have an idea where to go looking to fix it?
Thanks!

Hi @bunnybooboo, VidyoDesktop broke with an update to qt a few months ago. Unfortunately Vidyo stopped supporting Vidyo Desktop on Linux a long time ago and so I doubt we will see any attempts to fix this problem. The current version (3.6.3_017) was released back in March 2016. Since it is closed source the only way that we have found to run it succesfully is by using a systemtray application.
If you run trayer (which is installed as a dependency) before running Vidyo Desktop, Vidyo works without any issues. This is unfortunate but it is an upstream issue.
