EDIT, after reverting my /etc/makepkg.conf file to an older version I used, it builds without issue. I had to remove the "lto" option in the OPTIONS line. I fixed the PKGBUILD to disable this automatically for this package only.

@bczhc I don't get that error, but I get different ones:
