We've moved to the newly-stable 4.20.0 branch. There are also other changes:

  • stubdom is fixed by disabling the vtmp and vtpmmgr components. This gets rid of a few source files and our remaining patches.
  • Debug files are only removed if the debug option is not set in makepkg.cfg (or the PKGBUILD itself)
  • pygrub has been removed
  • optdepends are adjusted for the upcoming xen-grub split package for the various Xen flavored builds.

If you're still using pygrub note that it is deprecated. The solution is to build PV grub instead, which used to be in AUR but is now missing. I am asking a couple questions on the mailing list, and I intend to put my current build of xen-grub (which supersedes xen-pvhgrub) on AUR as soon as possible. If you need to build it before that occurs, you can find it in my PKGBUILD repo.

EDIT: 4.20.0-2 adds support for the xen-edk2 package, which has a fixed UEFI for xen

Wow what a pain to build. I needed it running...I don't have the time to do it right but I had to: remove the dom0 compression patch (looks like it was merged) remove the xen patch (i'm not convinced that made a difference or not, but saved me going through rejects) corrected the arch init patch (hopefully I didn't break the init script...it still seems to work correctly) symlinked python2-config and python2 to python-config and python, respectively. Yikes. Build wouldn't find python2 libs otherwise, and doesn't work with python 3. This needs a better fix. installed yajl, git, and wget (building required them beyond dependencies in PKGBUILD) I put up a github repo so I could share a fixed PKGBUILD and archinit patch if anyone needs to build this https://github.com/iamb/arch-xen

Looks like someone made an attempt to update the PKGBUILD to 4.2. I gave it a quick go and the patching fails. I don't have time to look into it today but wanted to let people know what's going on ==> Starting build()... patching file tools/hotplug/Linux/init.d/xencommons Hunk #2 succeeded at 29 with fuzz 1. So... nothing yet?

Please add wget and python2 as deps, the build fails without them.

Have disowned the package. Life's too busy to get this done and don't want to keep people waiting on 4.2.

I'm about 85% complete on a 4.2 PKGBUILD - have systemd inits + texi2html working, just have to finish cleaning up the other init scripts

If someone wants to write a PKGBUILD for 4.2, I can orphan this package for them. Not sure when I will get time.

when do you plan to update to 4.2?
