I may be doing something wrong, but this bug fix is not working for me.

I'm using Xfce4 and all hotkeys are still kicked on press.

Do I have to activate some option to switch to kick-on-release or might something else be the issue here?

Indeed. Sorry for bothering you. Strange implicit rule nevertheless.

Both flex and bison are part of base-devel group, which is assumed to be installed when you are building from source or using AUR packages.

bergentroll commented on 2019-08-02 15:37 (UTC)

Seems flex and bison build deps are missing.

Ah, I see. I was a bit too quick to report this, not being aware of the procedure you mentioned.

Thanks for letting me know, and apologies for the false alarm.

You should rebuild and upgrade to xorg-server-bug865 1.20.5-2.

This is the drawback of AUR packages. Be prepared to watch your system and rebuild packages manually whenever required.

This seems to have caused my computer to get stuck at boot after I got an update including the following:

[2019-07-08 02:54] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-common (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-devel (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-xdmx (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-xephyr (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-xnest (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-xvfb (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

[2019-07-08 02:55] [ALPM] upgraded xorg-server-xwayland (1.20.5-1 -> 1.20.5-2)

Replacing xorg-server-bug865 with xorg-server (1.20.5-2) is the fix I went for (for now).

Now, I may be at fault for upgrading those packages (am I?), but I thought I should post this anyway to inform you.

@kyak thanks, meson downgrade allowed me to install the patch. But I got a problem which @kiddick has described before: "I am using Shift + Alt for keyboard layout switching, with this patch I am able to use other keyboard shortcuts such as Shift + Alt + 1. It works, but it also switches keyboard layout with any combo. Any workaround?"

kyak commented on 2019-02-25 17:06 (UTC)

@restlesspiano, downgrading to meson 0.48.2-1 fixes the issue. I guess it should be reported against regular xorg-server package.

Any ideas how to fix an error shown below?

mv: cannot stat 'fakeinstall/usr/share/man/man1/Xorg.1.gz': No such file or directory ==> ERROR: A failure occurred in package_xorg-server-bug865(). Aborting... ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build xorg-server-bug865.
