Weird, it wasn't installed on my machine...

Ok, forget it, must be something else on my side :)

I'm not sure I understand. python2-rencode is listed as a dependency (and is available on community).

There seems to be a missing dependency on python2-rencode...

Thanks for the catch. I don't know how that slipped.

Hi, it fails to package on my machine…

==> Starting package()... /home/marc/temp/yaourt/yaourt-tmp-marc/aur-xpra-svn/./PKGBUILD: line 55: cd: /home/marc/temp/yaourt/yaourt-tmp-marc/aur-xpra-svn/src/xpra-build: No such file or directory, on 2 different machines. It also fails without yaourt, of course.

Corrected. Blame PKGBUILD.proto.

This pkgver is completely wrong on several levels. :(

  • svn info is not meant to be parsed, you're doing it anyway with awk, hence the need for LC_ALL workarounds

  • svnversion works fine, see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/VCS_package_guidelines#Subversion

  • $SRCDEST/$_svnmod is not guaranteed to exist, e.g. retrieve sources without $SRCDEST set, in which case it is initialized to $startdir, then set $SRCDEST. makepkg keeps using the existing copy instead of re-cloning to $SRCDEST.

  • revision counts should be prepended with "r", ideally with the upstream version (I acknowledge with a sucky VCS that doesn't do real tagging there's no way to get the revision count since the last tagged version, but we do what we can...)

Should use the python2-rencode package in the repos, instead of the inaccurately named rencode package which will shortly disappear due to being moved to community.

I don't understand why pkgdir is exported, especially since it is not supposed to be used in build() at all.

The build function has way too much commented out detritus.

The url should be updated to use https.

The license is listed in the PKGBUILD as "GPL2", but the source code says "GNU GPL v2, or, at your option, any later version"; therefore as per https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PKGBUILD#license the license is "GPL".

How is this different from aur/xpra now? They seem identical, looking from PKGBUILD.

c4757p: WONTFIX for Arch :(

Anyway, the issue landed in stable. Thus, I've updated both PKGBUILDs with moving /lib back to /usr/lib

A year after upstream "fixed" it, I still get "/lib exists in filesystem". Hacked around by adding to package():

mv ${pkgdir}/lib/* ${pkgdir}/usr/lib/

rmdir ${pkgdir}/lib
