FlowCanvas is technically dead and has moved on to Gnav but LADISH has yet to catch up... or see any movement really. FlowCanvas was dropped from community and there was likely not enough demand for this for it to be placed in the AUR. The resources still work so I'll go ahead and import flowcanvas into the AUR to satisfy this dependency. Good luck and happy building.

This won't build, now that there's no flowcanvas package.

amar: The error is a bit unrevealing. I'm not sure why it whould be complaing about undefined references to flowcanvas if it can detect a compatible version is present. I am unable to reproduce the error get when attempting to build on my local Arch systems. Is you system up to date? Are there any problems with package files reported by pacman -Qkk?

Any ideas on why I could be getting this error? http://pastebin.com/eT8QNDQi ladish-git compiles just fine though.

adbo: You are correct, it is entirely possible for the user to skip the prepare section by passing an option to makepkg. Granted, as makepkg -e skips source extraction and the prepare section consequentially, skipping this step often results in there being nothing to build. Unlike prepare it is not possible to skip the build section when it is present so it is unnecessary set the environment variables again in package. Any questions about the order PKGBUILD functions are executed in and cases in which they may not be executed are answered here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/creating_packages In general if a function exists it will be executed in order each time a user runs makepkg. makepkg extracts the source and runs prepare every time it is executed unless told otherwise by the user.

Environment variables (PYTHON and CXX) should be set on the build and maybe package functions. There is no guarantee that prepare has run before ether build or package is executed. prepare only runs once after unpackaging sources. Here is a patch https://gist.github.com/f3b6d5a0af32d987e59e

nlehmann: One has received reports claiming similar issues with the git package. It is highly likely intltool is a missing makedepend. I'll verify the issue and push out the necessary fix once I've had time to test things locally.

nlehmann commented on 2016-03-19 14:49 (UTC)

I think intltool is missing as dependency

The error seems to stem from changes to the GNU C++ compiler. The errors were thankfully helpful enough to suggest the necessary flag to correct the issue. After adding it to the PKGBUILD ladish builds fine.

blackhole, I can reproduce the error and will see if I can't track it down and fix it. Likely something that has changed in recent updates.
