With electron9-bin it works fine thanks again. (micwoj92)

Removing or commenting out export NPM_VERSION=$(npm --version) in the PKGBUILD fixed building for me.

Hi all, thanks for the reports of your failing builds. I'm working on getting this package back functional.

Hi again,

Perusing the github for balena-io/etcher it appears v1.5.117 is in development, and its electron dependency will be upgraded to ver. 11. Last activity on branch electron-11-build-e446afec... is 3 days ago (2021-03-15). One might speculate that build issues will be fixed when the new version is released??? Of course, electron v12 was released on March 1 with a patchlevel on March 10, so it's a never-ending target to chase....

I thought about creating a balena-etcher-bin AUR pkg from the .deb pkg provided on https://deb.etcher.io/ but I rarely use it so I am unlikely to maintain it properly :\ Anyone else interested? :)

HTH.

Clemmitt Sigler

P.S.: .deb pkgs seem to be out of date anyway, latest I found was 1.5.100 :(

Hi,

As reported by Spixmaster, I can't get this to build, either. I have electron9-bin installed but I suspect that doesn't make a difference. Am I wrong on that?...

I used yay and did a cleanBuild, so no leftover crud. Build error output:

@gin078 Could you please patch the PKGBUILD? It does not build anymore.

Ask package maintainer not me.
