I use gtk-window-decorator and would think most people who use compiz 0.9.x are. It was unpredictably segfaulting with 0.9.5.92 on my desktop so I'm currently using Xiao-Long Chen's git packages but no such problems with 0.9.5 for me.

Have you tried running compiz ccp --replace? ccp = CompizConfigPlugin. Cheers!

Hey rufflove, Thank you for supporting the community with the PKGBUILDs! :) I like your work! However, I'm not able to run compiz under XFCE4 (I've also installed metacity and recompiled all the packages). When I'm trying to run compiz --replace in terminal, I get the following message: compiz (core) - Warn: Value type is not yet set I've set under window-decorator the following command: gtk-window-decorator --replace When I run gtk-window-decorator --replace command in terminal nothing happens. All other effects are not working (I think there is some error with gtk-window-decorator?) I have an intel card (Samsung NC10 NETBOOK) I hope, that you look into my matter and help me soon. I'm almost certain libstdc++5 isn't required for wallpaper. I've tested on several machines and I can replicate the wallpaper problem as detailed below (the symptoms you experience are just the result of the plugin not loading and hence the desktop not being redrawn). Unsetting the cmake build type resolved it, hence having rebuilt core, presumably with the new package, it works for you.

I've tracked down my issue. Installed libstdc++5, rebuild both -core-dev and -plugins-extra-dev, and my wallpapers work again, and everything is pretty again <3 Maybe libstdc++5 should still be a depend? Without it, wallpapers break for me (I get a black background, and windows leave traces on it when I move them around).

The problem arises when CMAKE_BUILD_TYPE is set to "Release". It needs to be left at the default, "Debug". Wallpaper still complains with "Warn: Malformed option" when loading, but it works OK for me.
