If anyone's getting an error about missing libcrypt.so, libxcrypt-compat is a required dependency and needs to be installed manually for the time being.

I1m getting the same permission errors as @loganj commented previously.

They start just after this output:

After Ages of debugging and trying multiple solutions and having multiple errors one of them is submitted by @johnjohn , I found the solutions 👇

1) make sure that your drivders are correct according to this : https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/DaVinci_Resolve

2) if you have Nvidia card with Optimius Manager installed make sure you have it set to Nvidia mode , not integrated or hybrid [!IMPORTANT]

3) run it in sudo using the following command [Nvidia card ]: sudo prime-run /opt/resolve/bin/resolve $u

it gives me this error when trying to run it without sudo !!!!

(im relatively new to the AUR) shouldnt this package get marked as broken if it obviously is not working?

we have a missing dependency as well as the PKGBUILD not creating a symlink (afaik) that makes the program executable - i would say that qualifies it for being marked as broken as of now.

EDIT: Symlink does exist now - idk about the libcrypt thing tho.

/opt/resolve/bin/./resolve: /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.1: version `GLIBC_2.2.5' not found (required by /opt/resolve/bin/../libs/libaprutil-1.so.0)

I have libxcrypt-compat installed, there's something I'm missing?

ni3k commented on 2022-02-26 16:53 (UTC)

I have installed libxcrypt-compat from core repo, which provides libcrypt.so=1-64 to solve ...error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1... Why is it not a dependency for this package?

grandchild commented on 2022-02-15 18:31 (UTC) (edited on 2022-02-15 18:31 (UTC) by grandchild)

Apparently glibc removed /usr/lib/libcrypt.so.1, and davinci-resolve seems to depend on it:

/opt/resolve/bin/resolve
/opt/resolve/bin/resolve: error while loading shared libraries: libcrypt.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

To resolve (heh), install libxcrypt-compat from AUR.

This package should add this to its dependencies.
