IMPORTANT!

Since version 19.1.3-2 this package will not download automatically the source file from the upstream site.

To build this package you will need to manually download the file from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion and place it in the same directory with the PKGBUILD.

This would reduce the mess in this package, making it more readable and clear. Also bypassing the required information from the upstream URL is not allowed in an automated way.

I'm really curious to know why the checksums fail, release after release. Is there a problem with the method here? Why would we need to fix this, per person? AUR helpers fail here, obviously.

Do you need help? How can I help? Is there a problem? Let us know, please reach out, because this is frustrating.

For info - updpkgsums doesn't work - you have to amend the PKGBUILD

if someone needed new checksum:

❯ sha256sum DaVinci_Resolve_18.1_Linux.zip
a8bfd0f2236c5859b2e31ed2e771de3c326ea5ae6bbf9e442d1d6dacc3a3a0e6

The reccomended command for getting the checksum is updpkgsums

@hyun007 can you share the working checksum number here?

hyun007 commented on 2022-11-15 03:10 (UTC)

Looks like the sha256 checksum is different than the file that's actually downloaded. i downloaded the zip file from the website, and manually ran the checksum sha256sum DaVinci_Resolve_18.1_Linux.zip and checked it against the zip file downloaded in the cache. they matched. so i updated the PKGBUILD file with the manually generated checksum, and then ran makepkg -si

hope this helps
