Everyone can now participate in the general package update process! The process is almost entirely automated, these are the necessary steps:

  1. Create an MR with your changes to the source repo (the firedragon folder contains the files of this repo)
  2. Wait for a maintainer to review and merge it
  3. Done! When merging, the PKGBUILD will automatically be deployed to AUR via the CI pipeline.

We are finally there! After being frozen on version 119 and investing quite some time improving the app, Firedragon now has an entirely new base!

@chrisqq can you try wiping the build cache please?

chrisqq commented on 2024-02-08 20:43 (UTC)

This fails to install on cachyos due to misssing dependency ldd, however if I type ldd --version in the cli I get: ldd (GNU libc) 2.39 so it is definitely installed....

We will update this one once our testing phase for the rebase is over, which is very soon.

Clean chroot. Patch failure. Since this package isn't working, maybe switch it to the new fork instead of making a new one (firedragon-next).

patching file browser/components/preferences/main.inc.xhtml

Hunk #2 succeeded at 32 (offset -14 lines).

Dear Community!

For many reasons we decided to stop maintaining Firedragon using its Librewolf source as base.

Rest assured, we are now moving towards Floorp source, which offers different features/tweaks and uses Firefox ESR as its own source. This new package is currently in Alpha tests and looks promising.

Since there are many changes with Firefox 120, including some major revamp of Librewolf patches that Firedragon is leveraging, we decided to freeze this Firedragon version at 119.

Once the new package is ready, it will be pushed under firedragon-next, so people can try it and still revert back to Firedragon 119 should they wish.

Ultimately v119 will be completely replaced by its new Floorp base.

Floorp source can be found here.

We hope you will also enjoy our next version! :)

And in the current version it is now 0023-fix-building-gcc-pgo-and-disable-watchdog-on-pgo-builds.patch

It seems that the Disable-watchdog-during-PGO-builds.patch changed name, again, and is 0013-bmo-1516081-Disable-watchdog-during-PGO-builds.patch instead of 0014-bmo-1516081-Disable-watchdog-during-PGO-builds.patch.

@dr460nf1r3 Any show stoppers for updating the patches?

dr460nf1r3 commented on 2023-06-29 19:26 (UTC)

@Louis: this one is outdated though and features the old patches.
