Also, movit support has been temporarily removed on QT6 builds of kdenlive, so it is not even available.

To summarize:

1. Movit does not speed up export, and it is not intended to do that.

2. Movit has been causing a lot of instability in Kdenlive.

3. Movit support has been removed since version 23.08.05 of kdenlive:

Movit is mostly broken, and even when it works, it does not speed up export or rendering of your project at all. Its purpose is to accelerate some compatible effects while you are editing.

Exporting video is complicated, and involves a lot of work. It will take a long time when the project has a high resolution and frame rate as well as a long duration. Each frame needs to be calculated in a single threaded process. If you have many effects and a high resolution, this process will take longer. Making a video is not the same as playing it back!

Once the frame is made in memory, it then needs to be encoded into your output file.

Some output formats do support encoding on GPU. In the Kdenlive setting there is a "Run Wizard" option, and this sets up your hardware encoders, if your system supports them.

Your mileage may vary. My advice is usually to just go do something else while your system is rendering.

If you don't believe me, and really, really want to try movit, compile & install movit-git, then mlt-git, and then kdenlive-git.

Building or installing from lots of sources made the use of moovit unavailable. tryed to rebuild mlt also without success.

The snap package is the only one working 100%

without it, permoformances during export are very very bad.

Any idea ?
