@JL2210 the package is still building and installing the proprietary drivers. The upstream '.run' file extraction produces two kernel directories: one named 'kernel' (for the proprietary drivers) and another one named 'kernel-open' (for the open drivers). The 'dkms build' command builds the modules from the 'kernel' directory, and not from the 'kernel-open' directory. Can you please provide some evidence that the open kernel drivers are being installed?

same issue as nvidia-beta-dkms - 560 series installs open drivers by default, needs to be manually overridden

Probably due to routing issues - the download of the driver itself is incredibly slow - does anyone know if there are mirrors to us.download.nvidia.com anywhere?

@zhengnanlee what you are looking for is nvidia-beta-dkms.

How can you add a hook so that whenever there is a kernel update, this package is rebuilt?
dbermond commented on 2024-06-28 21:55 (UTC)
@Bohdanator you need to install both packages at the same time with 'pacman -U'.

I'm getting installing nvidia-utils-beta (555.58-1) breaks dependency 'nvidia-utils-beta=555.52.04' required by nvidia-beta
when trying to upgrade to .58

@Cknight70 there is no such public schedule for upstream promoting a beta driver to a stable driver, at least not that I'm aware. Time frames usually vary.

I'm unfamiliar with Nvidia's release schedule, when is 555 expected to be stable?
