First try to build failed for me too... I got to delete cache files from temp folder and do a clean build. That was the fix. @BrunkBeard - did you do a clean build?

Is it still a problem? I updated the sha512sums and it works for me on a clean checkout of the package repo. If that doesn't work, then I have no idea what's going on.

Has anyone figured out how to fix that error?

@degeberg Can you add
-DLINUX_X11POWER=on
to the cmake command? That would stop screensaver from activating during video. (https://forums.plex.tv/t/plex-media-player-packages-for-linux/198091/76)degeberg commented on 2019-07-08 10:40 (UTC)
I don't why it sometimes fails when using an AUR helper that has old versions cached. It works fine when using "makepkg" even if old files are present, so I suspect it's a bug in the AUR helper. I don't know if anyone has ever tried submitting a bug report to whatever AUR helpers they're using.
As for downloading the sha1 file, I suppose it's not really necessary. The Plex build script will download the file if it doesn't exist, but because I don't want any downloading to happen during the build process I just added it as a source. In principle, it could just as well be generated by the PKGBUILD script, but it shouldn't make any difference.

Hi,
Is there no way to prevent the need to constantly clear the cache before upgrading this package ? Looks like the web-client-desktop doesn't change version as often, and is not downloaded along with the other components because it's already in the cache:
Yet it fails the checksum step:
Isn't there a mechanism to bypass that problem ?
Also, I'm no expert in building packages, but I don't understand the point of downloading the sha1 file if you're going to check the archive against your own sha512 in the PKGBUILD file.
