That's bizarre, maybe it was still using the older PKGBUILD?

Anyway, good that it works now.

@luluco250 From the looks of it using paru instead of yay results in a checksum error I don't understand why but I used yay and it installed.

@DarQ1 I just did a clean install of the package through yay and it worked fine.

I'm finding it really weird that you're getting that checksum, are you sure you're downloading the same file? Is it about 140M in size? Did you happen to check its contents?

It's entirely possible that the download just corrupted too, hence the checksum being off.

@luluco250 My issue is the check-sums.

Downloading the file directly yields a different checksum than what the .pkgbuild is looking for.

I'm getting 4569910a3e59b9293e28af30917317bf300770ee80bc64ae86fd0eada3861dd2 as the checksum for sonic3air_game.tar.gz

@DarQ1 it seems Google Drive is finally making it nearly impossible to download automatically from.

I'd changed the URL since it seemed to fix it on my end, but I can see that it just broke again when I tried to install it just now.

I might just have to switch to the direct download URL from sonic3air.org which is apparently "not recommended and slow", but dealing with Drive is just awful.

EDIT: After inspecting the file it becomes clear that Drive is rate-limiting the file downloads:
