If you want to use system's abseil set the _use_system_abseil to ON - default is to download from internet during build.

git config submodule.requests.url "$srcdir/requests" Should be: git config submodule.third_party/requests.url "$srcdir/requests" By the way, the version of OmniSharpServer YouCompleteMe uses does not require cecil or NRefactory. git submodule init does not initialize the submodules recursively. You have to do it manually.

@axper: something you could do is just 'ln -s' instead of 'cp -R' for the submodules. Save time and disk IO.
