IMPORTANT!

Since version 19.1.3-2 this package will not download automatically the source file from the upstream site.

To build this package you will need to manually download the file from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion and place it in the same directory with the PKGBUILD.

This would reduce the mess in this package, making it more readable and clear. Also bypassing the required information from the upstream URL is not allowed in an automated way.

@Ashark. Thanks for the video. You have to open Resolve to reproduce the problem. It appears in Docks like Gnome dock or Latte when you pin the program. But the fix is easy.

Had to do the same with Blender-git (also contacting the maintainer atm and also easy fix). Got the fix from a nativefier reddit, but apparently works with all other apps as well ;)

@deezid - I cannot reproduce. See https://youtu.be/0dsKexcZx6w

I had to edit the .desktop file in /usr/share/applications with the edit mentioned to be able to put Resolve into my dock permanently. Before the icon appeared twice in the dock and I wasn't able to pin it.

@deezid What prevents you from creating a favorite from current desktop file? Can you explain about what glitches do you speak?

deezid commented on 2019-01-16 18:40 (UTC)

Thanks. It works perfect on my machine with NVIDIA proprietary drivers Just one suggestion: Add StartupWMClass=resolve to the desktop file.

This will help adding the app to favorites and prevent glitches on many desktops.

@satriani I have tested it and confirmed it works. Also see this: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=83795&p=466129#p468349 Please add me to co-maintainers list.

@Ashark Thank you for your support. I already started before the holiday. I just had to change a bit and test it. Anyway thank you again.

@satriani Why do you ignore my pkgbuild? I published it even before new year and it solves problems, that you reimplemented again now. You can see revisions in my gist if you wish. There are todos remained (about checking dependency list and some other minor) but the pkgbuild works as it should.

Unfortunately, there is a permission issue, so there will be a new update soon. If anyone finds any other bugs, report them here before updating. Many thanks.
