IMPORTANT!

Since version 19.1.3-2 this package will not download automatically the source file from the upstream site.

To build this package you will need to manually download the file from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion and place it in the same directory with the PKGBUILD.

This would reduce the mess in this package, making it more readable and clear. Also bypassing the required information from the upstream URL is not allowed in an automated way.

Using the open source amdgpu driver, davinci-resolve is crashing with a Segfaut. I didn't observe this behavior while using proprietary nvidia-drivers in the past.

In case anyone else is having this problem, I added all the related crash info to a post at the Black Magic forums: https://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=69688

Crashlog error: bin/resolve(_ZN7BtDebug14ReportSegfaultEiP7siginfoPv+0x44)[0x3c72984] /usr/lib/libc.so.6(+0x14afb3)[0x7f90c9201fb3] /usr/lib/libc.so.6(+0x14afb3)[0x7f90c9201fb3] /opt/resolve/libs/libFairlightPage.so(_ZN6SDebugC2EPKcS1_ibbNS_8CategoryENS_8LoadWhenEb+0x5d)[0x7f8fad1d14ed] /opt/resolve/libs/libFairlightPage.so(+0xb31cbd)[0x7f8fad4a9cbd] /opt/resolve/libs/libFairlightPage.so(+0xe2c336)[0x7f8fad7a4336] Signal Number = 11

"Please remember to put a package archive DaVinci_Resolve_14.3_Linux.zip in in your Downloads directory." Where would I get that Download? From www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/ I can either download 'DaVinci Resolve 15 Beta 6' for free or buy 'DaVinci Resolve 14 Studio'... ?

Hey. I got it installed no problem but it just wont start. After the first install it showed the welcome tour but after that it just does nothing. (No prozess shows up at all) Any thoughts what that might be?

Distro: Manjaro Budgie

@bebR I'm also having a lot of trouble importing media. Certain .mp4 files will import with an inaudible audio track and no video track, while others just won't import at all. Have you had any luck?

bebR commented on 2018-03-26 08:13 (UTC)

I have problems with sound and video rendering. With my gopro footage (H264), I have no image, nor sound. With my sonycam, I can see the video but still no sound. I use pulseaudio through jack (archlinux 64, i3 wm)

I read on the linuxmint forum that audio playback needs a BMD Decklink PCIe card and that H264 is not supported by the linux free version.

Is this right?

This appears to install just fine, but I'm running on a laptop with intel integrated graphics, and Resolve doesn't appear to be able to detect the GPU, with the Beignet drivers:

"Beignet: disabling non-working device"

Which stops the application from launching.
