Can this be updated, looks like they are finally doing new releases. There is now a tag for 1.0.4 which was released feb 7 2024

@boogiepop I see. No, this package is not forgotten. This package is just using the latest version released by upstream, as usual. Probably your valid concerns should be brought to upstream attention, asking then for creating regular releases, or at least to release a new version in a relatively short time. And it would be good if people working with ffmpeg would send their modifications for upstream ffmpeg appreciation.

@dbermond, because the 20171218 version of mpp, is so old and does not work with any kind of newer version of rockchip hardware (ie: rk3588), and linux 5.x BSP of theirs. It might compile but it will fail misarably on runtime. Also the default rkmppdec.c in upstream ffmpeg is not very usefull because it can only draw DRM_PRIME and can not YUV:402 SP which defacto for everything, also RGA acceleration by default is missing in the default ffmpeg. Therefore i have chain of packages that addreesses thsoe situations:
mpp-git
-> latest mpp,ffmpeg-mpp
-> ffmpeg patched with mpp and rga acceleration,kodi-matrix|nexus-mpp-*
etc.. I thought it was redundant, so if you think this package also has it own use, then ok, i just thought it was forgotten here since i saw the tag for20171218

@FabioLolix I have no rockchip hardware to attempt to do a test. Practical use is serving as dependency for ffmpeg. Upstream documentatio/readme mentions support for x86_64, and there are x86_64 references on the source code.

@Accidentaccio I tried to build and build fine; with newly downloaded files, so delete your cache and try again please, also please include a longer output in case of errors
@dbermond what is the pratical use case of this program on x86_64?

@boogiepop Why do you say that this package does not work? Version is the latest one from upstream, it is currently building fine, and it works fine for me for building ffmpeg. Please do not open a deletion request for this package, as it's still used for ffmpeg-full, ffmpeg-full-git and some gstreamer ones.

@Accidentaccio I've just checked, and the checksums are correct.

you can use
mpp-git
package which is the updated version of mpp. This current version from 2017rockchip-mpp
does not work anymore.Can i ask for deletion of this package @dbermod?

Reports that it fails to compile actually. The error is: ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
