@macman I don't have any license code (I work with a Dongle) so it's a bit difficult to reproduce for me... maybe upload the contents of /tmp/resolve/logs/rollinglog.txt somewhere so I can have a look and see if there are any hints.

@codibit I've tried the code in Windows, and it works. How can I help?
macman commented on 2018-03-20 08:24 (UTC)
@codibit I used it on arch (from the sh script) and it worked fine; then I had to reinstall (this time using Antergos) and it won't work (I used the aur method because there's no need to fix any libs that way - thank you!). Is there any logfile I can check?

@macman, I am using it with a dongle, so I can't tell you about activation codes. Maybe you should first try that the activation code is working properly, there is a CentOS distrubution available from Blackmagic, I think you should test wether it's working there (to have a known working scenario).
http://downloads.blackmagicdesign.com/DaVinciResolve/DaVinci-Resolve-Linux-14.3-CentOS_7.3.iso (MD5: http://downloads.blackmagicdesign.com/DaVinciResolve/DaVinci-Resolve-Linux-14.3-CentOS_7.3.txt)
Please let me know if there are any fixes that get your activation to work.

my activation doesn't seem to work, anybody else? Thanks for all the work!

I've updated the package, now it installs to /opt/resolve, thus making it incompatible with the installation of the non-studio version.
This solves the problems with the RED driver library mismatch, etc.
Thanks for the heads up @laemplein ;)
codibit commented on 2018-02-19 07:59 (UTC)
@laemplein thanks for the info, I usually have both installed in case I don't have the dongle with me...
I will see if I can change the hard-coded path problems, or make it incompatible with the non-studio build.

Cool package, thank you so much!
I discovered a problem: when installing the Studio Version in parallel to the Free Version I got an Error (reading a mismatch in a RED driver). Annoying but not a big problem. But as soon as I deinstalled the 'davinci-resolve', the Studio version won't start at all. I was able to solve this by adding a link:
ln -s /opt/resolve-studio /opt/resolve
It seemes that the Studio Version is looking for the /opt/resolve Folder. This dirty link redirects the Studio Version back to its own installation.
Maybe it is a cleaner way to install 'davinci-resolve-studio' into /opt/resolve in the first place and require it to uninstall 'davinci-resolve' first?

You will need either a license key or a USB dongle to use this software.

Package based on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/davinci-resolve/ just changed the sha256sum, file name and added UDEV rules for the dongle.

IMPORTANT!
Since version 19.1.3-2 this package will not download automatically the source file from the upstream site.
To build this package you will need to manually download the file from https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/family/davinci-resolve-and-fusion and place it in the same directory with the PKGBUILD.
This would reduce the mess in this package, making it more readable and clear. Also bypassing the required information from the upstream URL is not allowed in an automated way.
