@ghfujianbin you are right, downgrading only curl is enough.

@kumen, For me downgrading curl and lib32-curl fixes the problem, 'cause I don't have libcurl-compat. Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.

@kumen,

thanx for the info. I didn't think of those 2 packages b/c they were updated for me early last week and DRS 16 worked for a few days after that update. Since 17 beta is working for me, I may just keep with that version as I already updated my resolve database and worked on my projects since.

Downgrading curl and libcurl-compat to version 7.73.0 solved crash on startup from 12.12. 2020. No reboot needed for me.

@nixit If you've got the studio version. The best way to get this figured out is to contact their support maybe? I've posted a report on their forum, but I don't think it'll get their attention any time soon. Anyway really appreciate you taking time to reply to my question.

@ghfujianbin, I wish I could say, I used yay to install it, and it took a while so I occupied myself with something different seeing as I spent 1 day trying to get 16 to work again.

when I returned it was installed, didn't notice any errors, and my shortcut worked.

if it helps, my system specs are: ASRock 970 Extreme4 | AMD FX 8350 | 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaw X | 180GB Corsair Force Series GS SSD | MSI GeForce GTX 960 GTX Gaming 4G 4GB

@nixit I've got a lot of permission error while trying to 'makepkg -s' DR 17 beta. Did you also encounter those while building the studio version?

kumen commented on 2020-12-12 22:41 (UTC)

@ghfujianbin same for me, except my GPU is RX850 with amdgpu-pro drivers

nixit commented on 2020-12-12 16:45 (UTC)

@ghfujianbin, that's why I ended up trying DR 17 beta, and it worked. Not sure what is causing DR 16 to no longer load.

ghfujianbin commented on 2020-12-12 15:07 (UTC)

@nixit I even tried downgrading all the software that got upgraded recently, which is not a lot and DR itself to 16.2.5. But no luck.
