When reporting this package as outdated make sure there is indeed a new version for Linux Desktop. You can have a look at the "Stable updates" tag in Release blog for this.

You can also run this command to obtain the version string for the latest chrome version:

$ curl -sSf https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/dists/stable/main/binary-amd64/Packages | \
     grep -A1 "Package: google-chrome-stable" | \
     awk '/Version/{print $2}' | \
     cut -d '-' -f1

Do not report updates for ChromeOS, Android or other platforms stable versions as updates here.

I tried this after chromium (stable) v35 started acting funny... I keep having the same issue where I cannot drag and drop images to download them. I'm really kind of astounded that there is no "save image" right click action (only "save image as..") and no extensions that emulate this functionality.

@nicoazrak, done.

At least on Gnome Shell the only thing I've noticed is the graphical corruption and sluggishness when resizing the window. With Nvidia 337.25 the sluggishness is also gone: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/76278/en-us

I find it strange that so many are having problems with v35. It works fine on other distros (eg Debian). Either way, just wanted to remind everyone to also report bugs to the Chromium bug tracker. :-) Thanks! (crbug.com)

I was using v35 all this time since the update and can conclude it is total cr*p, if devs are going to continue this way I'd definitely need another browser.

Update: v34 is a flag on top of the PKGBUILD for now.
