I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

You could try the basic, like updating your system, rebooting it, and finally, moving out the settings folder (~/.config/Google/ and ~/.googleearth) and let Google Earth create new vanilla configs.

After the last updates, all the characters in the interface are squares. Am I missing a font? Which one?

@akuschki, he probably doesn't have that problem anymore :).

@david.runge, try deleting the cached GoogleEarthLinux.bin file in your SRCDEST.

@det: sorry, update now @david.runge, the md5sum works fine for me, you can try to use --skipinteg option in makepkg

Det commented on 2011-04-07 13:37 (UTC)

Btw. Madek, why didn't you bump the pkgver when you updated this thing?

dvzrv commented on 2011-04-07 12:21 (UTC)

Hmm, for some reason the md5sum keeps showing up as being invalid for GoogleEarthLinux.bin. I've downloaded it separately and checked, but it's correct (as mentioned by impherring13). It's really awkward... keep getting the same issue, when trying to install bin32-google-earth. Any clue on how to resolve this issue?

Seal, you missed a character on the md5sum. Correct md5sum is '0f700978030040502dcf3daa5bdf3d14' version 6.0.2.2074
