@dront78 Try using 'shake' for a good 15 mins, it usually works out seg faults...
p.s. it's in the repos

@SanskritFritz, I was talking about this: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/earth/thread?tid=71e5e545d1ec17fd&hl=en (the second last post. Those other links might be helpful too).

You don't put it anywhere. It's on top of the PKGBUILD and you just change the "no" to "yes". You are free to experiment with it all you like, of course, but it just won't work. The repos' libraries are too new for GE.

Det, I cannot remember what qtconfig trick you are referring to. In GE5 I deleted the local qt libs, that helped. BTW, where do I put the use_system_libs switch, I want to experiment with it.

and the segfault is???

_This_? That's kinda helpful. Well, did you remove lib32-nvidia/-catalyst-utils in the meantime?
dront78 commented on 2011-01-07 08:30 (UTC)
I've got this segfault, while bin32-google-earth works fine.
x86_64, use_system_libs=no

Did you try reverting the qtconfig trick you did with GE5?
SanskritFritz commented on 2011-01-04 19:46 (UTC)
Updated to latest GE. Here is a screenshot:

Note that the fonts in GE are way too wide and looking strange.

I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to
