I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

stronnag commented on 2022-06-18 17:03 (UTC)

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

Can't get this to work! All those lib32-* lib dependencies are required, and can be obtained only from x64 multilib repository (working on i686). What to do?

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-01-22 21:28 (UTC)

I searched the google forums previously, people with similar problems got solutions, which didnt work for me. I'll ask though, you're right.

Det commented on 2011-01-22 21:24 (UTC)

Why don't you ask in the Google forums?

SanskritFritz commented on 2011-01-22 19:54 (UTC)

So, I tried everything I could find and think of: system libs on and off, install ms core fonts, editing the qt.conf file, setting the font in qtconf, deleting libs from /opt/google-earth, deleting ~/.config/Google, but nothing helped. I'm desperate now. What else can I do to have normal fonts back in GE 6? (In GE 5.2, the fonts look good)

@supernatendo, please read the pacman output when installing/updating stuff - that's what it's there for. In this particular case you were adviced to install either (lib32-)catalyst-utils or (lib32-)nvidia-utils to actually get some 3D acceleration. In addition what you should please-not-do is that you should please-not post such long build logs in _here_ because it really fills up the comment space. Use pastebin as adviced for everything else. @1LordAnubis, then don't keep your quality settings/the memory cache size limit so high. @Madek, it seems this kinda crash log is about _use_system_libs: http://aur.pastebin.com/tMAyUN1C - and this kinda about not having (lib32-)nvidia/-catalyst-utils: http://aur.pastebin.com/WmzuUX9Y

seems to be using WAY too much ram

Madek commented on 2011-01-19 00:31 (UTC)

did you try to change _use_system_libs in PKGBUILD

Shows the splash screen, then crashes and creates a crash log. You and your segfaults. I couldn't reproduce that even by using _use_system_libs="yes", changing the ownership of "~/.config/Google/" and "~/.googleearth" to 'root' or replacing lib32-nvidia-utils(-beta) with lib32-libgl. Did you screw up your installation files' permissions somehow?
