I tried ubuntu precise with cinnamon-stable ppa and cinnamon runs smoothly. It seems they run gnome 3.4 with gnome-session 3.2. Maybe you could check what are they doing over there. But I prefer Arch Linux so I'l live with gnome-shell plus gnome-shell-frippery until you can fix cinnamon. Tks for your hard work.

I've manually reverted commit 6cd6a4543b83fe9dddca8e827a538, which is causing the issue. I have no idea whether Cinnamon will run, but at least it compiles :)

Okay, I found the cause of the bug. Cinnamon was updated to use GSettings/dconf instead of GConf to store muffin's settings (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=663429), but muffin was not updated. Muffin is still using GConf, causing the build to fail.

Any way, we should be happy - hehe - linux mint only have gnome 3.32 still. I was lucky to install cinnamon-git before the other days gnome 3.34 updates on arch, so it still works, tho it is slow at upstart.

Sorry for my rant... I really love Cinnamon and am advocating it exclusively, I just tend to get a little passionate when things I like, don't quite work.. :D

@mininessie: That's an upstream bug caused by the merging of gnome-shell 3.4 and mutter 3.4 components. I'm guessing it will be fixed soon.
