@jnbek: I agree, the AUR needs a feature to specify when a package doesn't build, but the Arch devs don't like it when the out-of-date button is used for this purpose.

Well, if the package is broken and doesn't compile, there should be someway to specify this... it's annoying trying to install this when it won't even build..

Please do not flag out-of-date if the package is simply not building. This is mentioned several times in the Arch Wiki and the mailing lists. Anyway, I've removed the '0001-Fix-build-with-gnome-bluetooth-3.4.patch' patch because it was merged upstream. The build is still failing because the Cinnamon devs are in the process of merging gnome-shell 3.4 changes.

Broken on s many levels...

FYI, it's not just the patches that fail, building fails in general.

@chenxiaolong: thanx Who know how to fix issue #611 (https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/611) battery status?

chenxiaolong commented on 2012-04-29 22:01 (UTC)

The Arch Linux devs are so quick! It's fixed in gnome-common 3.4.0.1-2. When the build is mirrored, people using the testing repo can compile cinnamon-git again :) https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/packages.git/commit/trunk?h=packages/gnome-common&id=68476c43908b2ca6bacf60fbf44d7e0d45553f37

Okay, that is not a bug in Cinnamon. It's a bug in gnome-common. The /usr/bin/gnome-autogen.sh script does have any lines that search for automake 1.12. I've already filed bug reports for this: Arch Linux: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/29661 GNOME upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=675093

Nevermind, I found the error and I'll try to fix it.
