@satriani, that one is for version 12 of DaVinci Resolve, and that too has been abandoned by the original maintainer. Maybe you can convert this thread to support the final release of version 14? Forgive me if I am suggesting something that is not as per the guidelines or something. I am not very sure of how this works...

This pack is for beta version only. Please use davinci-resolve pack from jonathon here https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/davinci-resolve/
Uninstall this beta version and install a stable version.

Hey @satriani, DaVinci Resolve is out of beta and the final version is out. How do we transition to the latest version on our arch linux installs?

Question: Where should I put the "DaVinci_Resolve_14.0b6_Linux.zip" file?
satriani commented on 2017-07-06 20:00 (UTC)
Thanks jasperlevi. I have updatet the package.
I know about the format limits and so. Too bad that Linux is still not as important for the developers. There must be more Linux users, then that will change quickly ;)

Hey @satriani, I can see that there is a new Beta5 version out today. I will wait till others have got it installed and working, before I set it up on my rig. Have you seen the new beta version? Thoughts?
The funny thing about the native audio and video import/export format limits, is that the Mac version allows all these things (I have a dual-boot).
satriani commented on 2017-07-05 21:54 (UTC)
You are wellcome. I'm glad it worked out.
You seem to know about native audio. You need a BMD Decklink PCIe card :)
jasperlevi commented on 2017-07-05 16:36 (UTC)
It worked! I installed the latest NVidia OpenCL driver, and then tried to install DaVinci Resolve from Pamac. It got stuck at the point where you either copy the archive or create a symlink to it in the tmp folder. I then installed it using the command -line method given in the comments below. The benefit of doing it the Pamac way was that all the dependencies (except the NVidia drivers) were automatically installed.
Tried running it but it didn't run. Obviously, because the NVidia display drivers were still missing. I then installed the latest CUDA, and the latest NVidia Display drivers. Rebooted, and DaVinci Resolve is running as good as it can (very few video codecs processed when importing clips, and no native audio).
Thanks for all the help!

Hay @satriani, nice to find an Antergos brother! So ok, I will install opencl-nvidia. What about the rest of the dependencies? Will I need to install them all one by one? Can you guide me step-by-step, if you don't mind...

Will be updated once 20 beta is released; users should use 19 at the moment.
