If you usе yaourt, put DaVinci_Resolve_14.0b2_Linux.zip to the /tmp/yaourt-tmp-$USER/aur-davinci-resolve-beta If pacaur, put DaVinci_Resolve_14.0b2_Linux.zip to the ~/.cache/pacaur/davinci-resolve-beta

I don't quite get where I should put DaVinci_Resolve_14.0b2_Linux.zip which I downloaded so it would be picked up by yaourt when installing it, any tips?

You are now comaintainer, do what you think is necessary.

Dude, you can't just take my PKGBUILD (which I spent in excess of twelve hours creating) and then remove my contribution from the header. Sort it out. Edit: by which I mean, add a "Contributor:" line (or "Based on:", or something).

It's not obvious, but there is currently no system audio support for the Linux version. You can only get audio through a decklink card. The last official word from a Blackmagic rep I could find on this issue is: "We are looking into it however as we have previously only supported audio in Linux with the Decklink we don't have a defined schedule for release." Needless to say, that makes this application completely unusable to most people. An entry level Decklink card will set you back $140 USD if you want to be an early adopter. Otherwise you will need to wait for a future release. Another limitation at the moment is lack of codecs supported. They are adapting an old version that was targeted at large studios that didn't need those features. It will take time to reach feature parity with the Windows and Mac releases, if it ever truly reaches parity.

I'm having the same issue, I'm only able to run it as root. No other info when it crashes than when it runs normally as root.

Hi, I have problem with audio. I see VU meters moving up and down, but I can't hear anything. I have checked "Use System Audio Output" in Preferences, but still nothing. In my log file I have only errors about gettin mac address and connecting to panel socket.

Aaaaah, got it now, thanks, satriani! I was missing opencl (*rolleyes*) - I mistook it for a critical error regarding log4cxx... I did have to run it once as root, then make the /opt/resolve/Media directory writable for all users, now it runs as a normal user.
