In case of changes/updates to ppp, you will need to re-run chmod -v u+s /usr/sbin/pppd.

Getting this error while connecting to vpn server

without sudo:
Connected.
Logging in...
Login successful.
Version header not found
SSL Connection is ready
Using SSL Encryption Cipher 'ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384'
Using new PPP frame encoding mechanism
Using PPP async mode (chosen by server)
Connecting tunnel...
pppd: must be root to run pppd, since it is not setuid-root

with sudo:
open lock file failed

inside root shell:
open lock file failed

$ netExtender -V
10.0.807

how to fix this?

@physkets Certainly. But I had it running until last time I used it one or two weeks ago...

@Augustronic If you want the GUI, you will need a package that provides the java-runtime optional dependency. Look above (in the aur-web page) for which packages provide that. I would suggest jre-openjdk.

Running NetExtenderGui throws now the following message: "/usr/bin/netExtenderGui: Line 4: java: Command not found.

physkets commented on 2019-04-13 06:06 (UTC)

@MaxM As the description of the optional dependency indicates, you can install it if you want to use the GUI. netExtender works perfectly fine without a GUI, and that is why the java-rutime is optional.

MaxM commented on 2019-04-13 01:06 (UTC)

Am I crazy here or should java-runtime be a required dep? If the package creates a .desktop file which calls the GUI application that means the dependencies for that GUI should not be optional.

Getting a SHA256 mismatch, they've updated the release to 9.0.805

==> Validating source_x86_64 files with sha256sums... NetExtender-9.0.803.x86_64.tgz ... FAILED general-product-agreement ... Skipped ==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!

Still built and installed fine with yay -S --mflags --skipinteg netextender

@xio Looks like the URL for it changed. I've fixed it now. Try again.
