I see, you just mean whether or not that process is running. It is not. I added a startup item which launches /usr/lib/vala-panel/appmenu-registrar This seems to fix things. I'm wondering though why this is necessary. With the previous installation the registrar process had been launched without such an explicit entry.

ps -aux | grep registrar.

If there is no one, just add it into autostart.

How do I check the appmenu-registrar process? I just observe that double menu phenomenon. Revering back to an older version of vala-panel-appmenu-xfce elimiates that issue.

How it conflicts? It should not conflict. Just install it and check appmenu-registrar process.

Since the latest update of vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git I do get double menus (Manjaro Linux with XFCE). This is the phenomenon as described here, for example: https://www.reddit.com/r/ManjaroLinux/comments/8v3pdx/looking_for_help_with_xfce_and_valapanelappmenu/?rdt=59508 It previously happened, as mentioned in the comments there, when vala-panel-appmenu-registrar-git was not installed. It appears that the recent update of vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git makes it incompatible with vala-panel-appmenu-registrar-git. Switching to vala-panel-appmenu-registrar (which was updated more recently) does not solve things. Maybe vala-panel-appmenu-registrar-git needs some update, too?

The problems have been fixed. Thank you.

Some things seem to be working now. I have to go but I will updated later. Thanks for the help!

Your packages seems correct. What if you use pacman -U vala-panel-appmenu-common-git-24.02.r7.ga14b19f-1-any.pkg.tar.zst?

Tio commented on 2024-03-01 16:07 (UTC)

So the makepkg created packages contain these:

For vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git - /usr/lib/xfce4/panel/plugins/libappmenu-xfce.so (the only folder structure and file)

For vala-panel-appmenu-common-git there is no /usr/lib folder in the package archive....

judging by log - it does not create anything related to translator. Can you show me contents of /usr/lib folder of created vala-panel-appmenu-common-git and vala-panel-appmenu-xfce-git?
