Hello, using 'set -o pipefail' was never needed since git tag already existed, the 'v' need to be cut from pkgver, please use:

pkgver() {
  cd "${srcdir}/ares"
  git describe --long --tags | sed 's/^v//;s/\([^-]*-g\)/r\1/;s/-/./g'
}

which give pkgver=127.r39.g808b658b4

There is an error when building starts:
