I finally found the cause of the issues. Cinnamon-settings requires some features that were modified in gnome-settings-daemon 3.4. Ubuntu reverted those commits in their packages, which is why it works in Ubuntu. For now, I'll just include the hack in the PKGBUILD.

cinnamon-settings still does not work without Ner0's patch.

I've created a proper patch that fixes the build with gnome-bluetooth 3.4. I've filed a bug report to get it merged upstream: https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/issues/636 And cinnamon-settings should not need patches anymore. I've tested every check box and tried changing themes :)

this is just a catastrophe just now. Thank you. Only found some .debs, no tarball. For the moment i will get rid of cinnamon

Since GNOME 3.4 just landed in the extra repo, I will be fixing the cinnamon-git and muffin-git packages very soon :)
