I will not update (for now) to the latest version 7.3.6.9326 because it crashes continuously for me.

Thanks, unfortunate timing then.

For reference, with Gnome shell / wayland I need to

unset QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME
unset QT_QPA_PLATFORM

to avoid

Google Earth has caught signal 6.

5.2.1.1588 is out

kolos commented on 2010-09-20 13:23 (UTC)

@OttoA nope, also the external links gives me an error ($BROWSER variable Environnement), which is odd since I set chromium as default browser in ~/.bashrc and in the xdg-open script.

There's incorrect md5sum for GoogleEarthLinux.bin in PKGBUILD

kolos commented on 2010-09-19 19:54 (UTC)

ok, using the http://aur.pastebin.com/AhGWy3pv of @snowstorm still crashed when it was loading, but... when i tried to run it again i cliked over "close" button of the starup tips and now is working for me, so it was the freaking starup tip window the one that made the program crash on my pc. sorry for my english.

Here are the changes I made to get 5.2.1.1588 working under my chroot with NVIDIA drivers althought the key is the QT libs from google need to stay as the current arch AT is 4.6.3 whcih is waht seemed to be causing my issues. I changed the MD5Sum for the install bin and the remove section thath removed Google libs in favor of Arch provided libs http://aur.pastebin.com/AhGWy3pv
