Mesa commit b52e25d3 breaks intel iris & anv build UNLESS OpenCL support is present.

Incase you don't need those drivers, a temporary workaround is to disable them.

lib32-mesa-minimal-git is also affected.

@RPINerd in https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/lib32-mesa-git#comment-941648

Users of this package are supposed to (re)build lib32-mesa-git everytime mesa-git changes to avoid such issues.

I'm certain I have stated that in the past, but it may have been lost in the older pages of comments.

This package now uses an environment variable to determine which llvm package it will be built against. Check PKGBUILD for details.

Mesa-git builds in a clean chroot with linked spirv-headers-git, spirv-llvm-translator-minimal-git, spirv-tools-git just fine. Lib32-mesa-git fails with them linked:

Run-time dependency spirv-tools found: NO (tried pkgconfig)

mesa/meson.build:1832:20: ERROR: Dependency "SPIRV-Tools" not found, tried pkgconfig

All that should be needed is linked to the chroot: clang-libs-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 clang-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 clang-opencl-headers-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 lib32-llvm-libs-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493077.44c579f5b56e-1 lib32-llvm-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493077.44c579f5b56e-1 libclc-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 llvm-libs-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 llvm-minimal-git-19.0.0_r493065.12b802ac0bc6-1 mesa-git-24.1.0_devel.186416.c0158b40ca9.d41d8cd-1 spirv-headers-git-1:vulkan.sdk.1.3.275.0.r19.g8b246ff-1 spirv-llvm-translator-minimal-git-1:r2004.5f965be-1 spirv-tools-git-3:2024.1.3925.c6615779e-1

ps, saw mesa-minimal-git lib32-mesa-minimal-git. Compiled them just fine. Switching to minimal from now on. Thanks for all the hard work!

Building after most recent system update throws the below for me

09:39:39 ==> Missing dependencies:

09:39:39 -> lib32-llvm=17.0.6

09:39:39 ==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies

It required lots of work, creating 5 new packages (3 are split of lib32-llvm-minimal-git) but lib32-mesa-minimal-git now builds again with intel driver support.

Next on the list is getting mesa-git working again, then lib32-mesa-git .

Kagukara commented on 2024-02-17 17:25 (UTC)

I had to install lib32-spirv-tools, lib32-spirv-llvm-translator and lib32-clang to get the package to install.

clang-cpp is needed for OpenCL , so that may actually be the same cause as the commit I mentioned for iris/anv , just further along in the build process.

ADDED: confirmed, the clangBasic error is caused by the exact same issue.

@Lone_Wolf I have the same error as @ArchUsr1 and I'm building against repo LLVM.

I do get a build failure, but it has to do with libclc.

lib32-mesa-minimal-git shows the same libclc build error, started bisecting there.

@ArchUsr1 : which llvm variant are you building against ?

ArchUsr1 commented on 2024-02-13 17:38 (UTC)

Anyone know how to fix this error?

Library clang-cpp found: NO
mesa/meson.build:1868:23: ERROR: C++ shared or static library 'clangBasic' not found
